We are delighted to announce that BT has received independent validation for the models we use to calculate the energy efficiency and carbon emissions reductions achieved by our new Global Fabric and Global Voice platforms.
The assurance comes from the The Carbon Trust, a global climate consultancy with a mission to accelerate the move to a decarbonised future. It enhances customer confidence in the reliability and transparency of our calculations that show that use of our new international voice and connectivity platforms can help them reduce carbon emissions compared with the previous generation of the technologies.
This not only re-assures customers when deciding whether to invest in the platforms but also builds trust in the accuracy of calculations related to their operations. Customers can request their estimated Scope 3 carbon footprint from BT based on their projected consumption. These figures can then be trusted for baselining digital emissions across their supply chain.
Global Fabric is BT’s brand-new, AI-ready, secure network-as-a-service (NaaS) platform. It will offer international customers trusted performance, with instant, on-demand connectivity to a full choice of third-party cloud, AI and software-as-a-service (SaaS) providers.
Our modelling estimates that Global Fabric is 79 per cent more energy efficient than our previous generation of international networks with a reduction in carbon emissions of 78 per cent.
Global Voice enriches enterprise collaboration services such as digital workplace solutions as well as inbound voice services supporting contact centre services. Customers can enjoy performance benefits, speed of delivery and scalability, as well as the flexibility to roll out new cloud-based AI innovations.
Our modelling estimates that Global Voice is 93 per cent more energy efficient than our previous generation of international voice networks, delivering a carbon emissions reduction of 81 per cent.
Today’s news is further evidence that customers can trust BT to help them to reduce their carbon footprint and digital emissions. Global Fabric and Global Voice are terrific examples of how we’re driving innovation to boost sustainability, business efficiency and supply chain resilience. The assurance adds to a growing body of recognition of BT’s commitment to building a sustainable future.
